Northwest Passage Pictures
Before I post some pictures, I want to update my activity regarding my book, RV-ING....
On Sept. 19th/10, I participated in the Old Ottawa South Art Festival; I was one of three authors from the OIW. Attendance was not big, but the weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed talking to a number of folks; a few purchased our books.
Now back to the Northwest Passage cruise. We left Kangerlussauq, Greenland, on August 14th, sailing along the West coast, and making a few stops during the next four days.
My first picture is of a huge iceberg with one of our Zodiacs cruising nearby in Disko Bay near Ilulissat. The icebergs were really impressive. Picture 2 is of Rinks glacier in Karrot Fjord; the ship approached the Glacier and turned around just before getting to it, so many of the passengers were on deck to view it. Picture 3 is of the town of Uppernavik, its harbor and attractive colorful homes built on rock. We were most impressed with their little towns.
We left the Greenland coast and crossed Baffin Bay during the night of August 18th, arriving the next evening at Pond Inlet, Nunavut. I'll continue my tour on my nest post.
