Reflections of the Past Couple of Weeks - Stittsville, Podcast Interview & Raku

The Artists and Authors in the Park in Stittsville on May 29th started with a bit of a drizzle, a little disappointing. An hour later the sun was beginning to peek out through the clouds, and all ended well. While the attendance wasn't over-flowing, I found it pleasurable talking with folks who stopped by my table, all in all, a worthwhile and interesting event.  To make it more interesting, his Worship Jim Watson dropped by to read some poetry to the children.

Some of you may be interested in a podcast interview I did with Mark Aaftink about my travels North, and my book RV-ING and Other Adventures North of 60. You can hear it by going to
http://reflectionson.podomatic.com, and go to Episode 15: The North. Mark has done a variety of interviews on a variety of subjects. I am sure you would find a few of interest to you.

Now this past weekend, I made a trip to the Eastern Townships of Quebec, primarily to visit my friend Rosemary, and do a raku firing with her. This is an outdoor method of firing bisqued stoneware pots glazed with raku glazes for about 45 minutes at about 1200 degrees. After reduction, they come out in the most amazing colors imaginable. I love doing raku. When I get my photos into the computer, I will post a couple.
