While is has been a hot dry summer in Ottawa; I can see the end coming soon as September approaches in just over two weeks. When it is hot, I stay close to home, except for shopping, or taking our six-year old twin grandkids to a wading pool which we did a couple of times in the last month.
Yes, I did complete a couple of jobs this summer. We finished painting our downstairs bathroom, and had the tub reglazed; a job I was delighted to complete. Another accomplishment was finishing my family history book that I had been writing for some time which I called 'My Roots from Prairie Pioneers'. This is strictly for family members only.
And yes, I did write an article for 'True North Perspective' August 12 issue entitled 'Remembering the Polar Bears on a Cruise to Svalbard'. The hot weather made me recall the cool northern tours we had taken, and it made me long for another trip North. I noticed in my last blog entry that I stated incorrectly that I had been North seven times; it actually is nine when I include trips to the Svalbard in northern Norway and Iceland. You may want to check out the True North Perspective.
At the end of the month we will have company coming from the West for a wedding of my great niece, and so we will prepare for their arrival. Hopefully the weather won't be as warm as it is now. With that I will close til the next time.
