Newfoundland and Wedding

Well, it has been a busy month! Made a trip to Newfoundland, hosted relatives for over a week, and attended a wonderful, fun, wedding for my great niece.
I will start with our trip, organized by Road Scholar; it began in St. John's where we spent two nights. The tour then took us to Cape Spear, Witless Bay, and Ferryland. Except for one day of rain in St. John's, the  weather was great. We continued on to Cape St. Mary's, Placentia, up to Bonavista Peninsula visiting Old Bonaventure, Trinity, Port Union, Elliston, and Cape Bonavista, before returning to St. John's. What did we see?  In St. John's the most interesting place was 'The Rooms', a well-designed building that included the Archives, the Art Gallery, and the Museum. On our travels we saw lots of birds; puffins, northern gannets, murres, guillemots, and many more. And of course, we visited light houses. Some of the more interesting places were Cape St. Mary's with possibly thousands of gannets, Colony of Avalon, the fortification at Castle Hill, the site at Old Bonaventure where Random Passage and Waiting for Time was filmed, and Port Union where William Coaker's house 'The Bungalow' is located. The scenery all around was wonderful and the people were superb, helpful, and friendly.
I'm including several pictures: (1) a lighthouse at Cape Speer  (2) a sea of gannets at Cape St. Mary's,  (3) site of the Random Passage filming at Old Bonaventure.
Now for Adele and Andrew's wedding; it was beautiful and fun! The bride was lovely! And it was wonderful seeing a number of our relatives, and having a great visit with several that stayed with us, namely my sister, her daughter and husband. It was my sister's granddaughter that was getting married. And a couple of pics to prove the bride was beautiful.
